Mercy's clearly inanimate body was laid out on Thomas' bed where it had been since he'd brought it there Monday night. He'd cleaned it up and placed it in a place she'd recognize when she woke up.

If she woke up.

The camera was focused on the body for nearly a minute before there was a sudden startling gasp for breath and Mercy sat bolt upright with a cry, scrabbling backwards on the bed and grasping at her chest where she'd been shot.

"THOMAS!"

He didn't spend all of it there... He's been really upset. He'll be relieved you woke up okay. You are okay right?

The woman and the guy and then the gun and yelling at her to run and...

There's a huge intake of breath.

And the pain, oh damn, the pain was so incredibly immense, like nothing I ever felt before, and I just, I just went down and there was blood gushing and I was cold and I just knew it was all over, and I couldn't even get enough breath to yell for Thomas and everything was going dark around the edges and then, just... I was gone.

And he, well, he either thinks I'm mated to Adam for some bizarre reason or he's from some time in the future where I actually am.

And Shal... he says I'm Pack. I'm a coyote, you can't make me Pack. It's only for werewolves. That's why I'm not sure he can be right.

But if he's right...

Wow. I can't even wrap my mind around it. And I can't even begin to imagine how much more the werewolves would hate me if I was officially Adam's mate and I somehow managed to be made Pack.

Not that I want to be Pack in the first place.
