Mercy's clearly inanimate body was laid out on Thomas' bed where it had been since he'd brought it there Monday night. He'd cleaned it up and placed it in a place she'd recognize when she woke up.

If she woke up.

The camera was focused on the body for nearly a minute before there was a sudden startling gasp for breath and Mercy sat bolt upright with a cry, scrabbling backwards on the bed and grasping at her chest where she'd been shot.

"THOMAS!"

You're right, it is impossible to believe. It hurts my head to try.

If this place is mine, why the hell do I have such a large house? It feels like a mile from the upstairs bedroom to the kitchen.

There were... there were more people living there with us. Gwen, Abby, Owen, Ianto, Jack...

But now it's just us. At least for now.

I'm sorry, I don't know any of those names.

Probably just as well...

Well... it's enough to know we weren't always just us there.

But you're not here. You're at...your boyfriend's. Your boyfriend who is not Adam, because he's not here.

I am right now because, well... I died.

But I don't live with him.

And no. His name is Thomas.

Back home, in my time, I wasn't involved with anyone. I'd gone on one date with Adam, which was supposed to be he and Jesse taking me out for a thank you dinner, which she backed out of, the little minx!

That seems so long ago. So much has happened since then...

I haven't been there in six months. It seems like an eternity.

People really have to stay here that long? Mercy, I can't stay here. Warren is going to go berserk trying to find me.

He won't even know you're gone. Apparently no time passes back home - we return to the moment we left and don't remember anything about here.

...I suppose that's a good thing. But it sounds horribly cruel.

You have to try not to think about it.
