8 Howls: [Accidental Video]
Jul. 10th, 2009 10:28 pmThere is the clanking of metal, a few mechanics' 'power words', and a pair of feet sticking out from underneath some sort of metal... thing. After some time Mercy appears from underneath what will hopefully one day be a VW, cleaning her hands off on a dirty cloth tucked in her back pocket.
Oh, you're going to be a beauty one day. Yes, you are. And don't be intimidated by the Jag over there. It never got half as much love, blood, sweat, and tears put into it as you will.

4 Howls: Need a Job
Jun. 26th, 2009 11:33 amSo, I'm Mercedes Thompson and I need a job. Back home I'm a mechanic - VW's mostly, but I worked on all the German cars. Yes, yes, go ahead, heaven knows I've never heard the 'Mercedes, the Volkswagen mechanic' jokes before.
I know there aren't many cars here unfortunately, but hey, I'm good with my hands and someone pointed out I could probably fix heating and cooling systems or do building maintenance type stuff.
Other than that, I'm very organized (if you ignore my room at home), I have a purple belt in an obscure martial arts form, and, well, a history degree - specializing mostly in European history. Don't ask about the last, I spent enough time arguing with my mother about why I'm not using that degree.
I'm very responsible and have a tendency to do more than I strictly need to do, which I'm told employers tend to like.
Anyway, there's my job plea.
For the rest...
Everyone at the house, thank you for making me feel so welcome.
Kyle, thanks for letting me get some of my nervous energy out by working at Lux the other night.
Robin, thanks for the muffin and the spar.
I'd still rather be home, but everyone's made it a lot easier to be here.
