28 Howls:

If anyone's looking for me, I'm just going to be going away for a little bit. I'm fine, I just need, I just need to be away.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to work for you. Sorry.

He dumped me, Shal. After all this, he dumped me.

"Hey, the friends are yours, the job's yours." He took a bite of the brownie and looked surprised. "And these are amazing. That's yours too."

"They're easy enough to make," she said, "but I'm glad you like them."

He smiled. "I pretty much like things I can eat, but these are pretty good. I, uh...I never really had anyone who wanted to make brownies."

"I kind of clean and bake compulsively when I'm upset," she admitted. "That or work on whatever car project I've got going. But that's back home."

"You know, I didn't have to do housework until I moved in with Shal and the others." He chuckled. "...you do cars?"

"Yeah, I'm a mechanic by trade. Of course, cars aren't exactly common in the City," she said ruefully.

He shrugged. "I've seen a couple. I've been thinking of taking that Jag for a spin."

"I have part of a VW Bug I'm working on," she admitted. "Just not enough work to pay the bills."

She wasn't even touching the Jag comment, sensing he was probably someone who'd just take any caution as a challenge.

"Nice. Need any help? I can do electrical work." He smirked.

"Beyond shorting things out?" she said with an arched eyebrow.

He leaned forward. "You don't believe me, do you?"

Re: Action;

"I have no idea what to believe," she admitted.

Not about anything really. Not tonight.

He smiled. "Wanna see?" Distractions were always nice.

Mercy nodded. "Sure." Distractions were always nice.

He held out a hand. "Take my hand."

Re: Action;

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
She hesitated, then carefully reached out and took his hand.

He smiled and took her hand, knowing this was going to tickle. He wrapped his fingers around her hand, and pointed a finger of his free hand at the nearest lamp.A small snap and an arch of energy raced through his hand, into Mercy's and from Mercy to the lamp. It jolted off of the table, landing with a thud on the floor.

She jumped at the electrical current and tried to tug her hand away. "Damn!"

Action;

[identity profile] theshockvalue.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh come on," He said with a laugh. "It tickled." He got up and righted the lamp, turning it back and as if nothing had happened.

Re: Action;

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
"It didn't hurt," she said. "It was just... unexpected."

Action;

[identity profile] theshockvalue.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
He nodded. "and the lamp still works. Still think I can't do it?"

Re: Action;

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
She shook her head. "I have no idea. This is way outside of my realm of experience."

Action;

[identity profile] theshockvalue.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
He shrugged. "I'm an Electric/Conduction Elemental. I generate electricity."

Re: Action;

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
"That's... even more outside my realm of expertise." She watched him for a moment. "Maybe you could, but that would negate the whole stress-working-off component of my fixing the car."

Action;

[identity profile] theshockvalue.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
He laughed. "I could just break it for you. That might help."
