5 Howls: Homesick

Somebody told me to give it a week or two and then I'd really be homesick. Boy, were they right.

I miss working at my garage and I miss my single-wide and I miss Medea - damn I miss my cat.

I even miss Samuel and Adam getting at each other and that shows sheer desperation.

Anyone want to distract a girl? Tell me a good place to go or something I should see or visit? Watch a movie with me?

Did somebody request a distraction?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Robin... I should have known you'd respond.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
And in record time, too. Would you look at that.

So what are you interested in tonight? Dinner and conversation? French film? Beach volleyball? Vigorous casual sex?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
You really are too much!

Either of the first two would be fine. I'm not much of a beach volleyball person.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I disagree. I am just the perfect amount.

What are you in the mood for? I could go for some paella. And a torte for dessert. I've been meaning to try out more of the wines in this place.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. That all sounds fine. I just... I don't want to think about home.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Trust me. Eat with me. I will not allow you to get a thought in edgewise, I promise you.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I'm an awfully thinky type person.

But I'm willing to give it a shot. Thanks, Robin.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
You are always welcome at my table, Mercedes. And in my bed, should you ever so choose to take me up on that offer.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

And, uh... good to know. Wouldn't hold your breath, though. Till this past month it had been about ten years since I'd so much as been kissed or been on a date. I stopped random fooling around a while ago.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Ten years? My gods, I can scarcely imagine. You poor, sweet girl. I could fix this for you immediately.

[identity profile] justashow.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well we do have a cat, I'm just not sure she'd respond the same way as Medea.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Let's stick to dinner and the non-groping, Robin.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Most cats hate me. Medea's an exception.

And I can sadly assure you that Gwen's cat isn't.

How are you doing, Kyle?

Tension level's down like a million percent.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Fine, fine. We'll stick to one dessert with dinner, then, as much as I am willing to serve myself up covered in honey.

[identity profile] justashow.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Better. Much better, I think.

What about you, Mercy?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Again, I appreciate the sentiment, but yeah, save the honey for someone else.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Good. I'm glad. I was worried about you.

Had an interview with a guy named Jamie Madrox about a job. We're supposed to go Underground together sometime and see how it goes.

Did some sparring with Robin and sounds like we're going to do dinner tonight. Try and keep my mind off... everything.

I miss them, Kyle.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Did you really have a cat? A coyote with a cat?

[identity profile] justashow.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
A job doing what? The Underground is dangerous, Mercy.

I know you do.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Medea was special. She loved anyone who'd give her some attention and love.

But yeah, most cats hate coyotes.

[personal profile] winewomenand 2009-06-30 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I can imagine that the feeling is mutual. Cats are miserable creatures. They care only about themselves and satisfying their own whims. Each one believes that he or she should still be rightfully worshiped as a god. No thanks to the Egyptians.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Investigative stuff. I figure in my other form I could be useful.

And it would be something to do where I could help people and not just do something random.

Maybe you could carve out a time for a movie night sometime soon?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Not a cat lover, I see!

[identity profile] justashow.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
I can't win, can I? Every single person I care about likes to go skulking about hunting down danger in the dark.

Fine, fine, I've learned my lesson about trying to stop anyone.

I have the time if you do.
