3 Howls: [Accidental video]

Sometime after this a coyote can be seen wandering in and out through various specially made doors. Anyone familiar with coyotes would see that this one appears especially pleased.

After some time the coyote disappears indoors and soon after Mercy comes out, stretching a little, and catches sight of the Network Device.

So that's where that got off to.

Hey, wait... is this on?

And the video feed goes blank.

How interesting. You can do that at will?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Not that I intended the world to see it.

You'll find that it happens like this often in the City. The devices have a mind of their own at times, the Network is full of examples.

They sure seem to.

Well, at least it's not like I have to keep what I am hidden here.

True, but some prefer a measure of privacy you may not get here.

Ever lived with a pack of werewolves?

There's no such thing.

[identity profile] missesthestars.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Um, not, but I have experience with the wolves and their packs in my world. The Kin most specifically.

How did you fall in with wolves? Perhaps it's different in your world, but the packs I'm familiar with are insular.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I, uh... my mom was a teenage single mom and when I started turning into a coyote pup in my crib...

Well, my great-uncle was a werewolf and suggested she send me off to the Marrock, the head of all the werewolves. So I lived with a foster family in the pack till I was 14.

[identity profile] missesthestars.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Uncle by marriage? Or do you have wolf blood in you?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
By marriage. No wolf blood at all.

Which makes it particularly lucky that I got sent to the Marrock instead of another Alpha. Most wolves kill coyotes on sight.

He's the leader of all the werewolves.

All the Alphas control their own packs, but yes, Bran's in charge of all of them.

It is in my world, Mercy. Perhaps the analogy isn't a perfect fit for yours, but it helps to organize it in my mind.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Wow.

It's almost more... military in mine. Not that the packs are some sort of army, but a suprising amount of werewolves are or have been in the military.

[identity profile] missesthestars.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
It can be... difficult for many of the wolves in my world to gain normal employment. Do the ones in your world have only full wolf/full human forms?

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
If people knew about the werewolves, I'm sure they'd have trouble too. The fae certainly do.

Yes. Though they can function somewhat mid-change.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry, I'm curious about the differences across worlds in the beings I'm familiar with, it's becoming a habit of mine to ask questions.

[identity profile] coyote-walking.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. I guess I can understand that.
